Oceania Cruises will launch 94 new cruises in 2024, focusing on the Mediterranean. Many engaging shore activities in various ports will also be available on the company’s 7- to 59-night itineraries in this rich and diverse region.
Oceania Cruises has announced plans for Mediterranean-themed journeys in 2024, giving guests an unprecedented opportunity to discover and experience numerous Mediterranean sites in truly immersive ways.
These Mediterranean-focused cruises will visit cultural hubs and lesser-known places in and around Rome, Barcelona, Lisbon, Athens, and London (this last one, we know, isn’t in the Mediterranean), among other ports. History, architecture, gastronomy, and other subjects are all offered.
“We are delighted to offer such an extensive range of destination-intensive Mediterranean itineraries, allowing our well-travelled and curious guests to look at beloved Mediterranean destinations through a different lens,” said Frank A. Del Rio, president of Oceania Cruises.
The company will also provide hundreds of immersive shore activities for small groups during these cruises.
“Our carefully curated diverse range of shore excursions, combined with the relaxing home-away-from-home ambience on board our boutique ships, offers the ideal luxury vacation choice,” Del Rio added.
Guests will be able to travel on ships such as Marina, Riviera, the smaller and older 30,277-ton Sirena (completed in 1999 at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France), and, of course, the cruise line’s newest ship, the 67,817-gross tonne Vista.
These Mediterranean-themed tours aim to immerse passengers in the captivating history, ancient civilisations, delicious cuisine, and long-standing customs of the Mediterranean area.
Oceania Cruises will provide a selection of specialised trips tailored to varied interests and tastes on their “Mediterranean Sojourns.”
For foodies, “Food & Wine Trails” and “Culinary Discovery” trips should be ideal for immersing themselves in Mediterranean cooking traditions. These small-group trips will focus on food and wine across the region, with cooking demos, instruction, and excursions to local farms and vineyards.
If architecture is a passion, the “Beyond Blueprints” excursions will raise guests’ appreciation for architectural masterpieces and landmarks worldwide, with special access and insights inside some of these renowned structures.
Environmentally minded individuals should take advantage of the “Go Green” tours, which seek to demonstrate how local communities and companies contribute to conservation and apply new green practices.
Some places on offer are Valencia, Spain’s paella capital; Ephesus, Turkey, with the Ephesus Museum; Syracuse, Sicily; and the city walls of Kotor, Montenegro, with the neo-classical Museum of King Nikola.
Oceania Cruises’ 2024 Mediterranean Itineraries “Seafarer’s Inspiration,” a 59-day Grand Voyage from Miami to Rome — with overnight breaks in Seville and Bordeaux — onboard the Sirena, will start these incredible cruise itineraries on 27 March 2024.
The Grand Voyage will visit numerous ports and destinations in the Caribbean, Europe, and the Mediterranean, including (but not limited to) Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Casablanca, Gibraltar, Edinburgh, Palma de Mallorca, Saint-Tropez, Monte Carlo, and many more.
Other voyages, such as the 10-day “Ionian and Adriatic Seas” sailing from Valletta to Venice onboard Vista on 21 April 2024, and the 30-day “Mediterranean & Beyond” sailing from Athens to Barcelona aboard Vista on 3 September 2024, will continue throughout the season. The Riviera’s 17-day “Timeless Turkey & Greece” voyage concluded in October 2022.
Also, starting 1 July 2023, Oceania Cruises will provide guests with enhanced offerings under the More programme, including complimentary roundtrip airfare, free airport transfers, and a shore excursion credit of up to $1,600 for new reservations made for voyages departing on or after 1 October 2023.
This fantastic deal may make these spectacular journeys even more accessible to enthusiastic cruise passengers, providing an unprecedented opportunity to experience the Mediterranean like never before.
